GENERAL INFORMATION
Athlete Expectations and Requirements
Participating on an athletic team is a privilege. By completing the clearance/participation packet,
students and caregivers agree to the requirements and expectations as outlined in this handbook.
1. Academics – in order to participate, students must remain off the No-Go List as outlined
in the OHS Student Handbook.
2. ATS/Suspension – any athlete who is issued discipline (Alternative to Suspension OR
Suspension) during the season, will be removed from the sport for the remainder of the
season.
3. Clearance Packet - completed and turned in at least ONE WEEK prior to the start of the
season.
4. Game Day Attendance – athletes must arrive to school on time in order to attend a
scheduled game (home or away). Athletes are expected to remain at school and attend
ALL remaining classes after the game is over.
5. Transportation – athletes must ride the bus TO and FROM all games. Athletes cannot be
transported to or from the venue by a parent or guardian.
Clearance/Participation Packet
Current physicals are required to participate. Physicals are good for one year and you will only
need to submit your physical clearance once. ALL forms must be completed and turned in to the
Office Manager prior to the start of the season. Students who are participating in more than one
sport only need to complete the Clearance Packet ONE TIME. Required forms are listed below
and can be found in this handbook and on the OHS website.

Eligibility requirements
To be eligible to participate on an athletic team, an OHS student must meet all of the following
criteria:
1. Attendance - no more than 3 absences and 5 tardies the previous three-week Block, and
each Block during the season.
2. Must earn a minimum of 6 credits per Block the previous three-week Block and each
Block during the season.
3. No suspensions during the previous three-week Block and each Block during the season.
4. Must maintain a C average the previous three-week Block and each Block during the
season.
